IHS Markit – SEO and Analytics Refresh

Migration SEO strategy and delivery of Analytics re-organisation:

We were approached to help international publisher and information broker IHS Markit redesign and relaunch a long standing market leading defence and security publication.

Brief: The objective; preserving and improving search engine rank, increasing search engine traffic and also separating the publications Google Analytics properties from the broader corporate account while preserving legacy data and improving accuracy.

Method: We were able to deliver a comprehensive strategy to achieve the SEO objectives and provided implementation support. We rebuilt the GA reporting architecture within its own account and properties and integrated with Google Tag Manager, but crucially retaining legacy data whilst identifying and correcting reporting errors that had gone un-noticed over an extended period prior to the project start.

Result: Search Engine Optimisation goals achieved and indeed surpassed, leading to significant increase in Search Engine related traffic and importantly sales.

A stable, sustainable reporting architecture achieved. Ultimately this allowed accurate performance measurement to be achieved and the project ROI to be correctly measured.

We have continued to support the publication for several years since the project started.
